ABOUT:

My name is Doris Schlothan and I teach 10th grade English and 12th grade AP English Literature at Portola High School. After witnessing my mother battle depression and going through my own struggles with anxiety in high school and college, I fully believe in the importance of destigmatizing mental health, especially for young people. If we are able to openly and bravely discuss it, our younger generations can learn how to healthily cope, seek therapy, and feel less alone, setting them up for future success in their adulthood.
